What can DCSE do for me?

• Undergraduates

  A few ways we may support your journey at �Թϴ�Ӫ include, but aren’t limited to:��

  • Connecting you to current affinity groups or helping you through the process of creating a new group.��
  • Space to study and meet, located at our suite in CCOM 3200 and lounge in CCOM 3202. These are open to all!��
  • For problem-solving over those opportunities and challenges that don’t fall under spaces such as SRR, SOS, and other teams.��
  • Leadership development student groups we work with.
• Graduates

  Through Academic Community Engagement (ACE), some of our current offerings to graduate students include:��

  • Mindfulness hours (drop by the suite for dates/times, more to posted on the webpage come Winter!)��
  • Programming to help students learn the skills to have difficult conversations across difference.��
• Faculty

  Through ACE, a few highlights of what we can do for faculty include:��

  • Faculty Coffee hours in partnership with OTL.��
  • Programming including “Know Me, Know My Research,” “Las Tertulias,” and the “Teaching and Learning Podcast Club.”
• Staff

  A handful of ways the Division may support you includes:��

  • Support to start, manage, and be a part of numerous affinity groups.��
  • Training and professional development by request.��
  • A third-party to brainstorm options for working through those challenges that don’t neatly fall under other categories such as HR, CREO, and other formal channels.

• What is the Division of Community Support and Engagement?

  The Division of Community Support and Engagement (CSE) really does what our name suggests. We provide 1:1 and small group consultations,��specialized programming, and partnerships with other teams across the university to ensure that our students, faculty, and staff can thrive.��

  Some of our specific work includes, but is not limited to:��

  • Community Essentials – Food Pantry and Care Closet��

  • Ombuds – Conflict Management & Workshops��

  • for students��

  • Community Culture and Support – Support for our active �Թϴ�Ӫ groups, signature programming, and our suite space open for meetings, studying, and other collaborations��

  • Academic Community Engagement – Specific programming and support dedicated to �Թϴ�Ӫ’s mission as a higher education institute such as “Know Me, Know my Research” and the “Teaching and Learning Podcast”.��

  In short, we do a lot with the common thread to help people connect, belong, and thrive!��

  There’s a few ways that �Թϴ�Ӫ community members can help elevate our work:��

  • Spread the word, and send people our way who have ideas, questions, and concerns.��
  • Send opportunities our way. We learn about the �Թϴ�Ӫ community direct from the community itself, and we continually look for ways to be informed of new ways we can help.��
  • Join an affinity group, join us for a mindfulness hour at our suite, help us build new bridges across �Թϴ�Ӫ starting with you!
