Mobile Classroom
Led by Dr. Cris Tietsort, the Compassion Lab Mobile Classroom brings compassion education directly to undergraduate and graduate courses. Dr. Tietsort partners with faculty to design meaningful learning experiences tailored to course content. These sessions provide an overview of compassion as a character virtue and often include dialogue about and reflection on compassion in course-related contexts. For example, one Mobile Classroom experience engages students in compassion dialogues centered on careers, encouraging them to ask questions such as, 鈥 How can teachers balance compassion and accountability when providing feedback to students?鈥 and 鈥淗ow can health care providers treat patients with compassion despite their limited time during appointments?鈥 Other Mobile Classroom students have grappled with big questions that allow them to reflect on how to engage compassion as a virtue, including 鈥淗ow can we be compassionate to those with views different from our own?鈥 鈥淗ow do we enact compassion in ways that don鈥檛 lead to burnout?鈥 and 鈥淗ow can we extend compassion without enabling others鈥 harmful behaviors?鈥澨
