  • How to Participate

    Students in eligible programs may choose to participate in SHIP:

    After you have registered for upcoming/current term classes, sign in to and select the following options:

    1. Student Resources
    2. Records and Requests
    3. Accept or Waive Health Insurance

  • Waiver Process

    Students who can provide proof of adequate alternate insurance may waive participation in SHIP:

    After you have registered for fall classes, sign in to and select the following options:

    1. Student Resources
    2. Records and Requests
    3. Accept or Waive Health Insurance.


    The online system will then offer any applicable options for health fee and insurance.

Student Health & Counseling Fee

The is assessed each term for most ³Ô¹Ï´ó±¾Óª students and does not cover individual services or insurance coverage. Instead, it funds prevention, wellness, and crisis support available to all students, including 24/7 medical and mental health consultations, programs, and no-cost services through CAPE (the ). It may also lower the cost of care at the Health & Counseling Center.

Other than identified by the Health & Counseling Center, the Health & Counseling Fee is mandatory.

  • How to Participate

    Most students are automatically billed the Health & Counseling Fee for the each academic term, based on their academic enrollment. No action is necessary.

    Eligible students who do not have the fee assessed (based on program type), but still wish to receive the service benefits, can manually enroll via the . Please note, ³Ô¹Ï´ó±¾Óª students in completely online or certificate programs are not eligible to enroll in SHIP or receive services at the Health & Counseling Center.

    While the Health & Counseling Fee is mandatory for most students, students enrolled in certain Graduate and Professional programs may be eligible to opt-down or opt-out of the Health & Counseling Fee.
