Before installing Palo AltoÌýGlobalProtectÌýVPN, be sure that you have set up Duo MFA on your Office 365 email account. Please refer to instructions onÌýÌý

One-Time Windows InstallationÌý

1. Open a browser and navigate toÌýÌý

2. If you are remote, you will have to sign into your ³Ô¹Ï´ó±¾Óª account before you are able to download the installer.Ìý

• Enter your username (³Ô¹Ï´ó±¾Óª email) and password and click ‘Login’.Ìý

• Authenticate with ³Ô¹Ï´ó±¾ÓªOÌýÌý

3. Select the appropriate software to download from the list.ÌýÌý
*Most Windows computers run 64-bit Windows.Ìý

*If you are not sure what version your computer is running:Ìý
•ÌýSelect the Start button, then select Settings > System > AboutÌý
• Under Device specifications, see System type.Ìý

Ìý4.Once downloaded, open the installer from your browser downloads or your default download location within File Explorer (most will be in the ‘Downloads’ folder).ÌýÌý

5. Follow the prompts in the installer.ÌýÌýDo not change the default installation location.Ìý

6. GlobalProtect will open in the lower right of your desktop near the system tray and clock. Left click on the globe icon to open the GlobalProtect interface.Ìý

*Note: If the globe is white/greyÌýthen the VPN is currently disconnected. If it is colored with aÌýcheckmark,Ìýthen itÌýis connected.Ìý

7. In the portal address, enter vpn.du.edu and click "Connect".Ìý

8. You will then be redirected to a browser to sign in again. Enter your email address and password and click "Login". You will then be prompted to verify your identity via Duo.Ìý

9. Depending on your browser, you may be prompted to allow GlobalProtect to open.ÌýÌýIf you see the pop up below, select ‘Open GlobalProtect’.Ìý

10. A connection is established once you see the ‘Connected’ window.ÌýÌý
*Note:ÌýThe firstÌýinitialÌýlogin may take aboutÌý90 secondsÌýto complete.ÌýYou may experience the VPN trying toÌýestablishÌýa connectionÌýmultiple times. During this process, the client is downloadingÌýadditionalÌýconfiguration settings.Ìý

11. The GlobalProtect agent can be accessed in the system tray in the lower right taskbar of your desktop.Ìý

12. To disconnect from GlobalProtect, click on it from the system tray to open it and then click ‘Disconnect’.Ìý

13. Your setup is now complete. You can follow the instructions inÌýÌýon how to use the VPN on a daily basis.ÌýÌýÌý
