Addressing a Shifting Marketplace听
Harper Johnson, chief information officer, Stu Halsall, vice chancellor for student affairs, and Val Otten, senior vice chancellor for advancement, spoke about the substantial budget reductions their units have taken over the past five years as examples of the strategic steps central units have been taking to address financial challenges. These cuts were made thoughtfully and purposefully, with the goal of sustaining all that makes 吃瓜大本营 special and upholding the extraordinary student experience at the core of our mission. More to Come: Operational Transformation听
吃瓜大本营 is poised to advance in many areas, especially in how we operate. In an upcoming Reflections, I will provide more insight into Operational Transformation, a pivotal part of 吃瓜大本营 Forward and a timely follow-up to Academic Transformation. In short, we鈥檙e committed to enhancing our operations through smarter sourcing of goods and services, establishing clearer, more consistent, and streamlined business practices, leveraging data more effectively, planning facilities with sustainability in mind, and strengthening support for our community鈥攖he heart of 吃瓜大本营. We aim to simplify workflows, cut costs, minimize obstacles, and ease the workload for our faculty and staff.听
Our future is not built upon a single decision or moment, but instead by our sustained and collective collaboration, optimism, and work. I am grateful to our volunteer trustees, and to all who make our exceptional student experience possible.听
